Elizabeth Fortushniak-Stove, RYT 200

About

Elizabeth is a E-RYT 500. Not only, is she a great listener to the people she meets but also to the natural surrounding environment. She has a fun, calm, welcoming presence in the studio and on the paddle board. Elizabeth’s classes are intended to bring you into the state of being that is focused on the present moment. She ques breath, alignment, provides hands-on adjustments that allows you to dig deeper into your yoga practice. Classes are designed to challenge the body and balance your mind, body & soul.

Elizabeth moved to Grand Junction in 2004 to complete her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. She quickly fell in love with the natural environment that surrounded the Grand Valley and decided to stay. Fast forward to 2015, after being a stay at home mom to three highly spirited children for six years she found it difficult trying to re-enter the job market in her chosen field. She found herself taking any opportunity to escape to her yoga mat, go on long river paddles or trail runs. These breaks in the chaos of family life gave Elizabeth time to pause and reflect on her personal and family’s health, which was deteriorating at that time. Elizabeth knew she was the anchor that kept her family grounded and understood it was time for her to make some significant life changes. As a result, Elizabeth pursued and received her first 200 RYT certification through the Academy of Yoga as well as a stand up paddle yoga and fitness certification through Paddle Into Fitness in 2016/2017. She paired these with American Canoe Association and World Paddle Associations certifications to teach stand up paddle boarding. This culminated in the opening of Grand Junction Adventures. In addition, Elizabeth received a 200 Hr. Baptiste Power Yoga certification from Half Moon Yoga in 2018, Yin Yoga certification through Z Flow Power Yoga in 2019 and a 300 Hr. Lakshmi Rising School of Yoga and Wellness certification in 2021.

During the spring and summer months Elizabeth is running Colorado river retreats within the red sandstone cliffs of Ruby Horsethief Canyon, guiding rafting & SUP adventures within the greater Grand Junction area, and guiding hiking & yoga adventures within Colorado National Monument and Rattlesnake Arches. She loves learning, practicing, and teaching different styles of yoga.  Elizabeth believes yoga is for everyone no matter what physical limitations you may have, age, experience or where you are mentally there is a yoga class for you!
