About

Elizabeth is a self-proclaimed Lover of ALL things Malas and Bhakti Yoga….

Elizabeth received her first Mala in the late 1990s. It was a Rosary from her mother-in-law. She had no idea the meaning behind it, nor did she have instructions on how to use it, but was drawn to it and instinctually started using it for daily prayers. She didn’t realize then…. she was basically doing a form of Japa meditation.

Elizabeth grew up in Kentucky, and any part of yoga or Mala, or prayer beads were foreign to her at that time. She just knew that “it” whatever “it” was felt good. She moved to Colorado in 2008 and finally got on a yoga mat and her journey started and shortly thereafter she found herself incorporating Malas back into her daily yoga practice.

Elizabeth hand-knotted her first Mala in 2016 and was instantly hooked. Eventually her technique and knowledge improved. Her Bhakti yoga practice deepened, and she had traveled to India several times. While in India, she had the honor to meet a few Indian Mala makers. These interactions inspired her to create “Yogi Dreamer” where she creates, sells and repairs Malas. She also lead workshops on how to make a hand-knotted Mala and Japa meditation.

Elizabeth absolutely LOVES the “magic” of Malas. Malas are very personal and sacred to the wearer…. they hold their energy, their intentions, their dreams, their prayers.

Elizabeth has been teaching vinyasa style yoga at Yoga V studio in Grand Junction since 2014. Elizabeth is a 500 hr yoga teacher. Elizabeth also co-founded the Grand Valley Yoga Fest in 2018.
